Hacks vs. Flaks announces charity bike ride
The first Hacks vs. Flaks charity bike ride will take place on Sunday, July 2, raising money for Dimbleby Cancer Care.
Billed as a networking event for journalists and PR professionals, participants will meet at 8.45am at Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey.
The event is open to cyclists of all levels, with a choice of 60km or 100km courses available, and a post-race BBQ for everyone who takes part.
Finsbury partner James Leviton will captain “the Flaks”, with The Times’ city editor Richard Fletcher captaining “the Hacks”.
“This event will be bigger than the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia put together, hopefully with fewer hills though!” said Leviton. “For us Flaks it’s about winning and I suppose a bit about networking, food and selling stories in.”
He added: “2017 has been a bad year for the Hacks. They lost to the Flaks at football and netball and it would be embarrassing for them to lose in the cycling as well.”
