Edelman to handle comms for Assura
Primary care property specialist Assura PLC has appointed Edelman UK as its retained financial comms and public affairs advisor following a competitive pitch.
Edelman will promote Assura across a number of stakeholder groups including financial and investor, central and local government and potential customers. The agency will report to Jonathan Murphy, Assura’s chief executive officer and Claire Rick, head of public affairs.
Mav Wynn, director at Edelman’s specialist financial comms and relations specialist consultancy Smithfield, will lead the account focusing on investor relations and account coordination.
She will be supported by Rob Yates, who will lead on media relations and financial comms and Lucy Thomas, who will lead on public affairs. John Kiely, Smithfield’s managing director, will provide strategic counsel and programme oversight.
Wynn said: “Assura has a truly unique story to tell, a strong investment case and plays a fundamental role in the future of Britain’s most revered institution – the NHS. We are thrilled to be supporting Assura to tell that story to the City, potential customers and policy stakeholders in central and local Government.
“We firmly believe that our fully integrated approach to communications, that includes capital markets, corporate communications and public affairs makes us perfectly placed to support the company’s ambitions.”
Claire Rick added: “We’re hugely excited to be working with Edelman on integrating our communications work across the diverse and complex mix of audiences we reach – and to amplify the message about the urgent need for better primary care infrastructure.”
